One Direction's Harry Styles conducted his entire BBC Radio 1 interview with Nick Grimshaw via phone app.

Ordered to either sing or talk by his doctor, Harry chose singing and used the app to contribute to the band's interview on Monday morning.

However, Harry thankfully left most of the chat up to Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson.

Fans had been invited to ask questions of the lads and BBC Radio 1 received 200,000 questions via Twitter.

The first question from a lady called Anne was, 'If it was Groundhog Day and you had to sing one of your songs over and over for the rest of your life which one would it be and why?".

In reference to Anne, Liam commented to Harry, "Your mum's still hot!"

Harry responded with "hiatus" via his app.

The next question asked if they chat on WhatsApp and what is it called.  They don't.  Liam pointed out that Niall doesn't even have his number, although he admitted he changes it often.

Another question asked if they would act as each other and do impressions and Louis attempted Niall's Irish accent.
