Ronan Keating announced as new co-presenter of early morning breakfast radio show
Singer and actor Ronan Keating will soon add 'radio presenter' to his list of credentials with a brand new morning breakfast show.
The former Boyzone star will host the new slot with co-presenter, broadcaster Harriet Scott, on Magic FM in the UK later this year.
The duo has already lined up guests including Rick Astley, former Spice Girl Melanie C and Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc.
Ronan (40) confirmed the news on Twitter: "Delighted to announce I will be hosting #magicbreakfast with @harrietscott_ on @magicfm later this year"
He also retweeted Scott's announcement, "Really excited to be launching an exciting, brand new breakfast show with @ronanofficial on @magicfm later this year!"
In a video introducing Ronan to Magic listeners, Ronan describes himself as "Pretty easy going, and caring in the sense that my family and friends are very important to me and looking after them is very important to me. At times I wish I wasn't but I'm definitely a softie."
He describes his most blissful moment as "A Sunday when you put on the radio, put your feet up and open a bottle of wine, maybe it's the smell of the wine and the smell of the roast in the oven and the tunes on the radio."
Ronan, who is expecting his first baby with wife Storm, will have a very early start on weekdays as the show will kick off at 6am.
The singer already has three children, Jack, Missy and Ali with ex-fe Yvonne Connolly.
The radio show is a bit of a departure for Keating who has been focused on his acting career in recent years with roles in the stage musical Once and movies Goddess and Another Mother's Son.
