Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene halt competition based on Avicii's laugh and donate prize money to Pieta House

Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene this morning called a halt to their popular Your Some Laugh competition which featured the laugh of DJ Avicii who died last week.

The presenters decided to scrap the feature in light of the statement released by Avicii's family in which they hinted that the DJ took his own life.

The Grammy-nominated Swedish electronic performer, born Tim Bergling, was found dead last week in Muscat, Oman at the age of 28.

Details about his death were not revealed but on Thursday his family released a second statement in which they said Tim "could not go on any longer" and "wanted to find peace".

Your Some Laugh sees the RTE 2FM hosts play the laugh of a celebrity with listeners invited to guess who the laugh belongs to in the hope of winning a cash prize.  The longer the listeners fail to guess the correct answer, the higher the prize money. 

For the last eight weeks the laugh of the late Swedish DJ has been played with prize money reaching €840 as listeners failed to guess correctly.

Nicky and Jenny decided to donate all of the money to Pieta House.
