Radio DJ Larry Gogan will stick with tradition and join Ryan Tubridy on air tomorrow morning to play the station’s first festive tune.

Tomorrow marks the first day of December, and to celebrate the first official day of Christmas month, airwaves legend Larry Gogan will be joining Tubs in studio from 9am.

The RTÉ radio veteran will start the festivities by broadcasting the station’s first Christmas song, and bookmakers are placing bets on what it will be.

Paddy Power reckons that it is most likely Larry will play the iconic ‘Fairytale of New York’.

The outsider is ‘Christmas is all around’ from cult Christmas rom-com Love Actually.

It’s sure to be a classic anyway, as Gogan once said, “I absolutely hate those novelty songs. I used to get nightmares when I had to play 'Mr Blobby.'"
