'I went high up in the air like a banana' - DJ Tracy Clifford 'butt of all the jokes' after slip
RTE's Tracy Clifford has a good excuse for putting her feet up this Christmas - she's nursing a broken coccyx.
The 2fm presenter slipped while on holi- day in Iceland and didn't even realise the damage she had done to her- self until she got to the hospital and doctors saw the bone sticking out of her back.
"I was in the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa in Iceland, which is absolutely amazing," she said.
"I got out of it really fast and slipped on what I think was a swimsuit and I went high up in the air like a banana."
Tracy had no idea how serious the injury was until she got to the hospital and was told she had definitely broken her tailbone.
"I didn't even need to have it X-rayed," she said.
"I was like, 'How do you know?' and they went 'The bone's sticking out of your back'.
"I have a really high pain threshold, but it's weird that I didn't feel it at all."
Since coming home, Tracy said she's been "the butt of all the jokes".
She was among a number of radio stars at the 3Arena on Tuesday night for the 2fm Xmas Ball, held in aid of the ISPCC.
The annual event, which was spearheaded by Carol- ine Downey, raised more than €500,000 for charity on the night.
