80 year old who got his first ever text from Three about the Kasabian gig went to see the band at 3Arena
Tom Grealy delighted the nation earlier this year when he wrote an hilarious letter to the Irish Times about the first text he had ever received.
He wrote: 'Sir, - I have often wondered how I have managed for most of my 80 years without receiving text messages. I have just received one from Three telling me that Kasabian will be at the 3Arena in Dublin in November.
'I can't wait. - Yours, etc,
2FM's Jennifer Zamparelli stepped in and organised for accountant Tom and his two daughters Clodagh and Eimear to go to the gig with her at the 3Arena on Tuesday night where they were treated to drinks and Tom even got backstage before the show.
He also went to the after party although he told Breakfast Republic on Wednesday, "I didn't do much damage at it."
Of the 3Arena he said, "The excitement is still there. I've been to the Royal Albert Hall and Madison Square Garden but I've never seen the beat of that place."
Jennifer revealed Tom "loves an aul chat" and his daughter Eimear said, "It took a while to get from A to B when he had to stop to talk to everyone in his path and spoke to everyone at the after party."
Jennifer also revealed Tom carried a bag of newspapers around for the evening.
"Sure we couldn't be getting the train home without his bag of newspapers," laughed Eimear.
Before signing off Tom revealed he has also been to Electric Picnic in his time.
