Panti Bliss currently trumps Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Hillary Clinton in TIME 100 poll
Panti Bliss is currently poised at 22nd place in the Time 100 poll, ahead of Taylor Swift, Kanye West, and Hillary Clinton.
Time magazine's annual list of the most influential people in the world is topped by Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders who has garnered an impressive 4.4% of the vote.
Burmese politician Aung San Suu Kyi is second with 2.8% while Korean pop group Big Bang are third with 2% of the vote, followed in fourth place by Barack Obama (also 2%).
Also ahead of Panti in the poll are Pope Francis, Lady Gaga, Leonardo DiCaprio, Adele, Bill Gates and JK Rowling among others.
However, the Irish LGBT activist, who became a key figure during the marriage referendum, currently holds an impressive 1.1% of the vote, just 0.1% behind both Beyonce and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and matching both German chancellor Angela Merkel and Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence.
Panti initially tweeted, "Haha! Clearly someone at Time is drunk but suck it Mark Zuckerberg, JK Rowling and Aung San Suu Kyi!" and followed up by stating she would now like to attend having realised it's the event where Amy Schumer threw herself in front of Kim and Kanye on the red carpet.
"Turns out they have a swanky event 4 the TIME thing (see pic!). Now I *do* want to go!".
Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, is eleven positions behind Panti in the poll, although she pips Taylor Swift who comes in at 37. Fellow popstar Rihanna is 44th while comedian and actress Amy Schumer is 46th.
Schumer shares 0.8% of the vote with Russian president Vladimir Putin while Donald Trump has bagged 0.6% of the vote and rests in 66th position in the reader poll.
Kanye West and Justin Bieber are positioned 93rd and 102nd, just ahead of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un who is 104th with 0.4%. He's just ahead of Kim Kardashian's 0.3%.
The Time 100 list is, according to the magazine, a list of "the most influential people in the world" and is "comprised of world leaders, great minds in science and technology, outstanding figures in the arts and other icons of the moment."
Time editors ultimately choose the honorees. However, they are running a poill to assess the sway of public opinoin.
Voting closes at 11:59pm EST (that's 3.59am GMT) on April 10, and the winner of the reader poll will be announced April 14. The official TIME 100 list for 2016 will be announced April 21.
