My Perfect Weekend: Paddy Casey

Ed Power

Ed Power

The plan for Saturday night?

I'm going to sing some songs and hope no one gets hurt.

Must see gig/performance of the weekend?

Kila performing in Meeting House Square with Paddy Casey, of course.

Pub/restaurant/club you couldn't live without?

I'm a big fan of Bollywood Spice. It's an Indian restaurant in Naas.

Best weekend ever?

I'd say the very first Christmas must have been a good weekend.

Worst weekend ever?

I don't do bad weekends.

Favourite pre-going out ritual?

I like to get into the mood by watching the opening scene of Saturday Night Fever [where John Travolta struts through Brooklyn to the strains of Stayin' Alive].

Top post-pub munchies?

I love to go somewhere for a kebab.

Weirdest taxi queue moment?

Come on -- who can afford taxis nowadays?

Best chat-up line at 2am?

"The kebabs are good here, aren't they?"

Your perfect date

I can't think of anyone in particular. But I'd love to go to a drive-in movie on a hot summer's night. Obviously, I've never done it because there are none here and it's never that hot in Ireland.

Paddy Casey plays at Ceili Culture in Meeting House Square, Dublin, on Saturday, August 14
