X Factor’s Lucy Spraggan signs record deal
FORMER X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan has signed a record deal with Columbia records, it has been confirmed.
The singer song writer is working on her debut album which will be released later this year.
“I'm really excited to be working with Columbia, it is such a respected label with an incredible heritage”, Spraggan said.
“To be signed to the company who have worked with great icons like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen and the newer generation of artists like Calvin Harris and Rita Ora is amazing - I can't wait.”
Columbia Record’s Vice President Alison Donald said: “Lucy is a refreshingly honest and naturally gifted storyteller who walks to the beat of her own drum.
“Her song writing very much fits in with the tradition and artistry of the Columbia ethos, and we are absolutely delighted to have her on board.”
Spraggan had a self-produced album on iTunes prior to her appearance on the X Factor, however due to the strict terms of her participation on the show she was forced to take it down.
Despite being one of the early favourites to win the talent show, she was forced to withdraw during the early stages of the live shows due to illness.
