Video: Red Hot Chili Peppers' frontman attacked by bodyguard in mistaken identity

ANTHONY Kiedis, Red Hot Chili Peppers' singer, was caught up in an altercation with a Rolling Stones bodyguard after he apparently mistook the famous musician for an unruly fan.

The scuffle took place outside the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia, as stunned fans looked on, with one shouting: “That’s the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers”.


Kiedis was walking with a woman towards the Hotel, when suddenly a bodyguard took a lunge towards him, grappling him to the ground.


A male friend of the singer tried to run to his rescue, but came under restrain by another guard.


After the brief encounter Mr Kiedis, shook hands with the mistaken bodyguard and later issued a statement saying, “I love the Rolling Stones”.
