U2 tickets sold out within minutes for the band's four Dublin gigs set for November this year.

The band are set to rock out the 3Arena on November 5, 6, 9 and 10.

Within an hour of the tickets going on general sale, resale site were selling for up to €500. Prices started at just €40.50 for the 'eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE' tour dates but standard tickets were, unsurprisingly, whipped up quickly.

It's understood all standing tickets for the gig were sold directly from the 3Arena yesterday morning and are paperless, meaning those who purchased them can only collect them on the night using their credit card.

However, seated tickets could be purchased online.

Fine Gael TD Noel Rock has called for legislation to be brought in to prevent ticket touting for big events.
