Tinie Tempah: I love wacky fans
Tinie Tempah is so thankful to his fans - even the "wacky" ones - for making his year.
As well as striking gold with debut album Disc-Overy, the 21-year-old rapper has seen all his singles head straight for the top five spots in the charts.
"Wacky fans are the best fans - the majority of the time, people try to keep contained because they are nervous or edgy; so when you meet a wacky fan who jumps on you, you get a little bit startled but you know that they are letting their hair down and being themselves because they feel like they know you enough to do that," he said.
He added: "To have two singles in the top five is absolutely crazy, and I have only the fans to thank for that. I just love the way my supporters are following me on this journey and helping me with the chart onslaught."
Tinie, whose real name is Patrick Okogwu, is launching an exclusive fan group on BlackBerry's instant messaging service, BBM. Selected fans can then add him and chat to him directly.
"I blog and tweet, so my fans feel like they're with me every step of the way. I use BlackBerry for everything - writing my lyrics, blogging, taking pictures, Twitter and Facebook," he continued.
"The first time I tried BBM, around 3,000 people tried to add me, which wasn't good for the phone. This way, I can chat to more people. It's fun to speak to my fans."
