THE Script have been forced to cancel two UK dates following a “very serious family illness” for one of their members.

The Dublin band were due to play a show tonight in Leeds Academy, and tomorrow night in Blackpool Illuminations to wrap up their UK tour.

However, the ‘Hall of Fame’ stars have decided to cancel both dates after a sudden illness struck one of the band’s family members.

Refunds are being offered for both concerts at the point of purchase.

The announcement was made via Twitter in which it was said: “'It is with deepest regret that The Script have had to cancel both their Leeds Academy (29th Aug) & Blackpool Illuminations (30th Aug) shows... The band deeply regret having to cancel at such short notice."

These were the last dates on their UK and Ireland tour, which included appearances in Dublin and Manchester.
