Taylor Momsen has revealed how she was left with painfully "beat-up" knees after filming the video for her new single Miss Nothing.

The outspoken Gossip Girl star, the lead singer of rock band The Pretty Reckless, is crawling across a dining room table, throwing food and smashing glasses, and writhing around suggestively on the floor in the music video.

Taylor, 17, told the BBC Breakfast show: "I had very beat-up knees at the end of the day. You have to reset it [the table] and do it again, reset it, do it again. it was a long day, it was a lot of fun though."

The rock chick was recently unveiled as the face of Madonna's new clothing line Material Girl.

Taylor said: "It's Madonna and Lourdes' line so I'm working directly with them. Lola, her daughter, is very hands-on. It's very much her line. She was there styling the shoot and she's like 13 and she's way beyond her years, she's awesome."

The singer and actress opened the 4Music stage with The Pretty Reckless at the Virgin Media V Festival on Saturday and then performed an exclusive acoustic set backstage in the VIP Virgin Media Louder Lounge.

During the intimate set Taylor - a self-confessed Oasis fan - paid tribute to the band, who announced their split at this festival last year. Finishing off her last song she sang "I'm feeling supersonic, give me a gin and tonic" before thanking the crowd.
