Stars all a flutter at 'Heartbeat of Home' premiere
Audiences the world over have experienced 20 years of stage hit Riverdance and this week its creators formally introduced what they're hoping will be their next dance phenomenon.
The red carpet was rolled out for the global premiere of Heartbeat of Home on Wednesday night in Dublin and a host of high-profile guests showed their support for producers John McColgan and Moya Doherty.
Leading the way was former president Mary McAleese, who was one of the first in the theatre's circle area to give a standing ovation upon the final tap of a shoe.
Pat Kenny was joined by his wife Cathy, while also in attendance were silver screen costume designer Joan Bergin, restaurateur Patrick Gilbaud and music promoter Caroline Downey, accompanied by daughter Storm.
The Diary spotted Harry Crosbie chatting to musicians Phil Coulter and Paul Brady as the foyer filled, raving about the production being the "next big thing" to come out of Ireland.
Meanwhile, comedian Mario Rosenstock joked that he was in character as Michael Flatley for the evening.
Heartbeat of Home runs at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre until October 12.
