Charlie Simpson says Busted won't be getting back together.

The Fightstar frontman shot to fame with the band with What I Go To School For almost 10 years ago.

Charlie, 26, said: "I wish Matt (Willis) and James (Bourne) all the best with their future projects but I want to make it unequivocally clear that I have no interest whatsoever in rejoining Busted and I never will."

The singer said making three albums in as many years with his Fightstar bandmates has left him drained.

But he has since made a solo album, Young Pilgrim, which is being released next month.

"I just didn't have it in me to make another record or to write another Fightstar album," he said.

"I felt so burned out, as did the other guys. We went from recording to touring without any time in between, and I wasn't ready to do it again."

He said: "I always thought I'd like to make a record with harmonies and this vibe. I just didn't think I would ever get to do it".

Charlie added: "I'm definitely going to make another Fightstar album, but I want to spend the next year making sure as many people hear this album as possible."
