Shania Twain to release first new album in 11 years
SHANIA Twain has announced plans to release her first studio album in 11 years.
The country singer made the announcement to her fans on her Facebook page.
“I will spend a lot of the summer working out what to put on my next album, a break from the stage gets me back to writing the songs", she said.
The country star has been a headline act at Las Vegas Caesars Palace since December 2012, with her contract not due to expire until 2014.
The singer hasn't released a record since 2002 after suffering from the vocal impairment known as dysphonia.
However since 2011 she has undergone extensive surgeries and vocal training to regain the voice which helped her sell 75m records during her career.
Twain has won five Grammy over the course of her career, with a string of hits including ‘That don’t impress me much’ and ‘Man, I fee like a woman’.
