Richard Hawley is turning DJ with a show for the BBC - standing in for old bandmate Jarvis Cocker.

The Mercury Music Prize-nominated guitarist and singer will host Cocker's Sunday Service show on Sunday for digital station 6 Music.

Sheffield-based Richard was at one stage guitarist in Pulp, the band Jarvis fronted for many years.

And Sunday's show will be a mini Pulp reunion as the group's former keyboard player Candida Doyle will co-host the show which airs from 4pm to 6pm.

Richard said: "I'm chuffed Jarvis asked me to cover for him but it's big shoes to fill so I asked Candida to help me. She's got brains, style and great taste in music. I'll be putting the kettle on."

Jarvis said: "I'm sure the two of them will produce a great programme."
