Rachel Stevens admitted she felt nostalgic about her S Club days

Rachel Stevens has confessed being a guest judge on The X Factor NZ in New Zealand made her realise how much she misses her days in S Club 7.

The 35-year-old singer spent a week Down Under helping All Saints star Melanie Blatt pick her finalists for the groups category on the New Zealand version of the singing show.

Rachel told the Daily Mail: "It was an exciting week and great fun to be part of the show. I got quite nostalgic seeing the young bands enjoying themselves, creating new styles and sounds. It was lovely to be part of.

"I had a great time in S Club and know how much they've got to look forward to. Being back in New Zealand, albeit briefly, was a pleasure and I'm excited for Mel and for the show."

It has been rumoured that Rachel, who has a two-year-old daughter Amelie, and her S Club 7 bandmates could be getting back together for the second series of The Big Reunion.

There is also rumoured to be room on the UK X Factor judging panel as it has not been confirmed if Tulisa Contostavlos and Nicole Scherzinger will be returning, and Simon Cowell is reportedly planning a revamp to combat last year's flagging ratings.

The X Factor NZ's co-executive producer, John McDonald, was full of praise for Rachel, saying she "was the perfect addition to help Mel with her decision and she did a great job".

He added: "Her feedback was incredibly valuable to the contestants and to Mel having been very successful in a band herself. Plus she was a natural in front of the camera."
