Brian May has teamed up with stage star Kerry Ellis to release an album - eight years after talent-spotting her for his We Will Rock You musical.

The Queen guitarist plays on and produces the album for the singer, who has gone on to star in hit shows such as Wicked on Broadway.

The pair will also appear at the BBC Proms In The Park in Hyde Park on September 11 and release their album, Anthems, two days later.

Brian first spotted Kerry when she was understudy for Martine McCutcheon in My Fair Lady and then signed her up for the Queen musical.

"From the moment I first heard Kerry sing, I was entranced, and felt the conviction that I would one day make her album. The conviction never left me," he said.

Kerry, who is currently starring as Nancy in Oliver!, performs rock anthems and show songs on the album.
