Previously unreleased images of Garth Brooks 1994 Irish gig released
It’s clear that Garth Brooks has a great gra for Ireland.
And these pictures that his fondness for Ireland spans two decades.
The country superstar came to Ireland in 1994, and played the Point Depot.
Our images show hundreds of Irish fans reaching out to touch their idol as he performs in the old Point Depot 20 years ago.
Another image shows Brooks out strolling in the city centre alongside his sister.
These pictures, taken by Irish Independent photographer Kyran O’Brien, were supposed to be published in globally renowned music bible Q magazine.
It was the first time the publication, known for its coverage of the rock scene, was doing a spread on country music and was to feature 16 pages on Brooks.
However, Kurt Cobain died shortly after these pictures were taken and the feature was shortened.
Some of these images have never been published until today.
Other images of Brooks were taken during his performance three years later in Croke Park in 1997.
Another picture shows Brooks strumming his guitar at Howth Pier for a music video.
No doubt there will be more pictures taken when he comes to Dublin on July 25th next.
