Perry was scared of Super Bowl gig
Katy Perry has admitted that she was petrified before her half-time Super Bowl gig.
The Firework singer followed in the footsteps of the likes of Beyonce and Madonna with the high-profile performance.
And Katy told US Elle magazine that she found it difficult relinquishing control for the event, which featured a giant lion and dancing sharks on stage.
"In my show, I am boss daddy. I am boss mommy. They call me Boss. Everything goes through my eyes; I call all the shots, 100% of it," she said.
"With the NFL, I have to be accountable to several levels of red tape. There are many committees I have to go through for my costumes, the budgets of my show, every interview - everything, I have to report to somebody. So I am no longer the boss; I have to relinquish that control."
Katy said she underwent months of gruelling preparation for the gig.
"Once you decide you're gonna do the Super Bowl, you're gonna have no f***ing life for six months. It is the biggest thing. Anyone that's ever done it has been scared s***less. You stay off the internet for the five days afterward."
But Katy did go online - tweeting: "MOST WATCHED SHOW IN US HISTORY?! Whelp, I gotta keep reminding myself I put my pants on leg at a time... But, yes I am incredibly proud!"
She also shared an Instagram photo of her new "XLIX" tattoo, commemorating the performance, which also featured Missy Elliott's return.
Katy also reflected on life as a pop star in the Elle interview, saying that she and her fellow singers were painted as characters in a soap opera with Taylor Swift - who Katy is rumoured to be feuding with - "the sweetheart" and Kanye West "the villain".
She added: "It is a hundred times harder a dream than the dream that I dreamt when I was nine. You think you signed up for one thing, but you automatically sign up for a hundred others. And that is why you see people shaving their f***ing heads."
The singer also praised Adele for being "so real", because she "couldn't care less about the trappings of fame".
"She came to a show at the Hammersmith Apollo in England and stole my after-show burrito," Katy said. "She's like, 'How the f*** did you get a burrito in England?'"
