Internet sensation Owl City reign supreme in the singles chart.

The top spot continued a meteoric rise for the US band's founder, Adam Young, who was creating songs in his parents' basement two years ago.

Their single, Fireflies, saw off competition from Replay, the debut single by Iyaz, which surrendered its No 1 position to claim second spot.

Don't Stop Believin', by the Glee Cast, climbed two places to three, while Starstrukk, by 3OH3, held on to fourth spot.

Sidney Samson's Riverside (Let's Go) slipped to fifth above Won't Go Quietly by Example, which was the top 10's only new entry.

Don't Stop Believin' by Journey, Broken Heels by Alexandra Burke, Lady Gaga's Bad Romance and JLS's One Shot completed the top 10, according to the Official Charts Company.

Florence And The Machine kept a firm grip on No 1 in the album charts with Lungs, ahead of Sunny Side Up by Paolo Nutini.

Lostprophets' The Betrayed and Justin Bieberdef's My World were the only new entries in the top 10, finishing third and fourth respectively.
