A festival celebrating food and wine writing will include talks, cookery, dinners, panel discussions, food trails, readings and stalls. Guests include René Redzepi, head chef of Noma; columnists and writers Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi, cocktail expert Nick Strangeway, Bordeaux wine owner Lilian Barton-Sartorius and the cream of Irish food celebs Rachel Allen, Donal Skehan and Clodagh McKenna. http://litfest.ie

K-Fest @ Killorglin, Kerry (from free)

Four days of arts, music, drama, film and family events including pop-up visual art galleries, Listowel horse racing, poetry recitals, underground cinema in a shopping centre car park, street performers and a kids' arts trail. Musical performers include SOAK, Hermitage Green, R.S.A.G., Daithí and Toy Solider. Some events are free, while some musical events are ticketed. http://www.kfest.ie

Doolin Folk Festival @ Doolin, Clare (from free)
Friday June 13 – Sunday June 15

The second annual outing for Doolin Folk Festival takes place in a marquee in Doolin Hotel and will see the likes of Liam O'Flynn & Paddy Glackin, Kíla, Damien Dempsey, The Máirtín O'Connor Trio, Lisa O'Neill, Séamus Begley & Jim Murray, The Bonny Men and Mick O'Brien & Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh play live. There will also be food stalls and a traditional crafts.
