No Stones regrets for Jeff Beck
Jeff Beck may have turned down the Rolling Stones to pursue his own solo career, but he doesn't regret it one bit.
The rock guitarist famously ran out of the legendary band in 1975, when they wanted him to replace Mick Taylor, but he told the Daily Telegraph: "I've no regrets - let's face it, I'm centre-stage, the ticket's got my name on it, I go out and play and there's no singing."
"Who wants to swap that for being part of someone else's band?" he added.
Jeff, who has collaborated with Joss Stone and Imelda May for his new album Emotion And Commotion, said he didn't feel like he belonged to the Rolling Stones.
"When I played with the Rolling Stones, it was so quaint after the real violent riffs and wild Billy Cobham rhythms I was getting into, it would never have worked," he added.
:: Emotion And Commotion is released on April 12.
