The Windmill Lane Sessions featuring acts including Mundy and Rodrigo y Gabriela will launch on Independent.ie this weekend.

Sessions will include exclusive live performances as well as the artists giving some of their most in-depth interviews to date.

Five top acts - Mundy, Hot Sprockets, Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Walls and Morrissey and Marshall - will go out on Sunday.

Each Sunday from now until February will feature one international or Irish act performing an original track and a cover.

Sunday week will see new hot band The Riptide Movement display their talents and have an intimate chat with journalist Barry Egan, who is spearheading the project.

In the run-up to Christmas Damien Dempsey, Declan O'Rourke, Morrissey & Marshall and Wyvern Lingo will discuss their careers and perform some of their top tracks.

The new year will feature Irish music heavyweights Sharon Corr, who has released her new album The Same Sun, and Aslan, who are gigging again following lead singer Christy Dignam's recovery from cancer.

The Windmill Lane Sessions will offer a unique insight into the iconic studios as well as a different format for artists to discuss their music and perform.
