We found Westlife’s Mark - singer reinvents himself as 'Markus' in time for headline gig
The former Boyband star is back, performing under the name Markus Feehily.
The 34-year-old singer has announced a solo gig at The Olympia Theatre on Sunday March 8th.
The Sligo native spent 14 years as part of the pop band Westlife, selling over 50 million records before their split in 2012.
After they went their separate ways, Mark returned to the studio to focus on his solo career, exploring a darker, more soulful, electronic sound.
Now, he is back in the limelight with his soon-to-be-released album which is scheduled to drop later this year.
The album will see him draw from some of his most personal experiences:
“It's always more daunting to write and perform songs that are autobiographical,” he said. “I tend to write more when I'm feeling down or when something bad happens as it can be the only way to express myself. I'm really looking forward to sharing the new songs with the fans.”
"I’ve always had so many influences and things to say that wouldn't have been quite right for Westlife and it's been fun after all these years to finally let them all out,” he added.
Tickets for Markus Feehily live at The Olympia theatre are priced from €27.90 incl. booking fee and go on sale this Friday, January 23rd at 9am from www.ticketmaster.ie.
