Watch: This Irish teacher's stirring version of 'Shut Up and Dance' makes the harp relevant again Newsdesk Newsdesk

Hearing a modern tune plucked from the strings of a harp is not something you would normally expect to hear.

But this Irish dance teacher manages to propel the traditional instrument into the contempory spotlight with this enchanting melody.

Tyrone man Gerard Carroll recorded his hypnotic version of Walk the Moon's "Shut Up and Dance" and the internet lapped it up.

With almost 40,000 views since its online release, Carroll said he is "overwhelmed" by the reaction to the video.

It looks like he better get used to the attention - his modern take on the popular hit has already hit headlines here and abroad.
