These are the top ten songs that get people in the mood for sex
A new study on musical turn offs and turn ons has revealed what songs are a hit in the bedroom.
A new study conducted by sex expert Tracey Cox and the online music streaming service Deezer has revealed what songs get people in the mood for making love, as well as why certain songs are 'sexier' than others.
30 per cent of respondents said music makes them feel more aroused and 25 per cent said it makes sex feel better. Music also helped eased the awkwardness of getting down to business, according to 15 per cent of people interviewed.
It also found that Saturday night, between 8 and 10pm, was the most popular time to get busy between the sheets.
Over 60 per cent of people said that a song's rhythm helped them perform better but an artist's tone of voice and the song's melodies were also important factors.
“Neuroscientists have found people respond more to a beat when it’s played by lower pitched instruments,” said Cox. “Physiologically, people’s bodies love deep bass sounds, which, if loud enough, also produces vibration and make it powerfully arousing.”
The study found that heavy metal and rap were two of the biggest genres turn offs, according to 49 per cent. If you're looking for tips on what to add to your hook-up playlist, R&B, rock and pop were the most popular genres for mood simulation.
Be warned before you add Justin Bieber and Kanye West to the list. Almost half (49 per cent) said that the Chicago superstar's music was a turn off and they skip past his songs in the bedroom. The same amount of people said they found Justin Bieber's music to have a similar adverse effect. Other flops include Iggy Azalea and System of a Down.
On the other end of the spectrum, 27 per cent of people said that Marvin Gaye's voice got them in the mood and his song Let's Get It On bagged the top spot.
The second most popular song to have sex to, however, was the Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer hit Love to Love You Baby. It probably has something to do with the fact that 22 orgasms were simulated by Summer in the making of the song.
