The Script have announced a headline gig in Ireland this December, all in the name of a good cause.

The Irish trio, who sold out two gigs at Croke Park in 2015, will be headlining the 2FM Christmas Ball in aid of the ISPCC on Tuesday, December 19 at Dublin's 3Arena.

The impressive all-Irish line-up also includes performances by The Coronas, Gavin James, Hudson Taylor and Wild Youth, with more acts to be announced, all of whom are providing their services free of charge for this worthy cause.

Last year's concert, organised by RTÉ 2FM and MCD, raised over €460,000 and will be hosted by 2FM  presenters Nicky Byrne, Jenny Greene, Eoghan McDermott, Bernard O’Shea, Jennifer Zamparelli and Keith Walsh and Tracy Clifford, among others.

President of The ISPCC and producer of the 2FM Xmas Ball Caroline Downey said they are "delighted" to be hosting another star-studded show to raise funds for Ireland's national child protection charity, which responded to 405,255 contacts from children last year.

"We are truly blessed to have their support along with 2FM, the team in MCD and the 3Arena. We will continue to strive and help children in Ireland who need the ISPCC and Childline and We Will Never Give Up On A Child. Ever," she said.

All of the money raised goes towards the financial support and aid of the 24 hour phone-line and the ISPCC services dedicated to helping children.

The ISPCC helps children cope with issues that affect them such as isolation and loneliness, bullying, mental health difficulties, cyber safety, drug and alcohol misuse, trauma, violence and abuse and nearly 80% of its funding comes from the generosity of the Irish public, individual or corporate donations.

Tickets cost €39.50 and will go on sale at 9am next Friday, November 10 from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide, the 24 hr Hotline: 0818 719 300 24 hr, or online at
