Tickets for Taylor Swift's one and only Irish date as part of her highly-anticipated 1989 World Tour go on sale at 9am this morning.

It is expected that tickets for her one headline show at the 3Arena on June 29 will sell out fast thanks to her hard core fans, aka 'Swifties'.

It will be the first time Swift has performed on our island since her sell-out 2011 'Speak Now' tour.

The '1989 World Tour' will kick off on May 5, 2015, in Tokyo, spanning four continents including North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

The seven-time Grammy winner's fifth studio album, '1989', is the highest-selling release in the US since 2002 and went straight to number one in the Irish iTunes chart.

Music bible 'Rolling Stone' has compared the album '1989' to Bob Dylan's early work - "except with more songs about Harry Styles".
