Taylor Swift could be set for Croke Park date on Reputation tour in 2018
It looks like Taylor Swift may well be gracing the Croke Park stage next year.
The 26 year old star has just dropped her new album, Reputation, and fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of a tour, which Billboard reports may come on her birthday in December.
Speaking on The Pat Kenny Show on Monday morning Peter McKenna, commercial and stadium director with the GAA and Croke Park, did not deny Swift would play the 80,000 capacity venue when asked.
Although he said "nothing is confirmed as of yet," he replied, "I'm not somebody to tell lies on radio Pat," when asked if he would deny a date would be announced.
Swift previously played two sold out shows on her 1989 tour in the 3Arena in 2015 and fans are eager for her return.
Recently fans who pre-ordered her new album Reputation were reportedly given a code which gives them pre-sale preference for her 2018 UK and Ireland shows.
The Sun reported that an email sent to fans read, “Do you want to get advanced access to pre-sale tickets to the forthcoming soon to be announced Taylor Swift UK & Ireland 2018 concert dates?
"Pre-order ‘reputation’ from the Official Taylor Swift-UK & Ireland store and you will get a unique code that grants you exclusive access to the forthcoming pre-sales for the UK and Ireland 2018 concert dates!"
U2 played a date at Croker on The Joshua Tree tour earlier this year while Coldplay also played a sold out date at the iconic Dublin venue. Although a third concert is allowed no third concert took place this year.
Today it was announced that Michael Buble will play a fully seated concert at the Dublin city centre venue on Saturday July 7 next year.
