Other Voices to return to Dingle in December with Gavin James, Richard Hawley and more

Other Voices will return to Dingle, Co Kerry for its fourteenth season next month.

The hit music show will be filmed from Friday December 4 to Sunday December 6 with over 70 acts of all genres playing free gigs in venues across the town.

The first five acts will be:

Fresh from a US tour with Sam Smith, singer-songwriter Gavin James will be releasing his highly anticipated debut album on November 20th ahead of his Other Voices performance.

Richard Hawley returns to Other Voices for the first time since 2011, and will perform songs from Hollow Meadows his recently released album.

Singer-songwriter Lapsley, is one of the most exciting artists to emerge in recent times on the British electronic scene. In 2015 she signed to XL recordings and has enjoyed a significant amount of airplay and support from BBC Radio 1. Her debut album will be released in 2016.

Recently Mercury Prize-nominated for his album Matador, Gaz Coombes (lead singer with Supergrass) will play Other Voices for the first time.

Having played the Music Trail last year at Other Voices, Irish rock band Otherkin have been making an impact both here and across the water with their debut single Ay Ay.

More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.  Other Voices will air on RTE2 next year and filming will once again take place in St James' Church.

“Other Voices will host the most exciting music this year in back rooms, front rooms, bar-rooms, shops and churches from early in the morning to the depths of the night," said Philip King, Executive Producer.

"We will welcome music from Ireland, England and America and showcase the bands, musicians, artists and writers that will be the soundtrack for 2016 and beyond. Be with us.”

Each year Other Voices provides a TV and online platform for new and emerging acts with the IMRO Other Room. Applications for a performance slot in the IMRO Other Room reach over one thousand each year.

RTÉ and Other Voices will again give music fans the opportunity to select the artist for the final IMRO Other Room slot.

From today, Wednesday 11th November, RTÉ and Other Voices invite artists of all genres to submit a link to one video (a video or a still image with audio) or link to one audio-only recording for consideration.

These links should be submitted through the IMRO Other Room Open Call application process on Artists have until 12pm Monday November 16th to submit their link.
