Heartbroken One Direction fans who missed out on the Belfast show after Liam was taken ill last night can take solace in the release of their new video for Perfect.

Just hours after 12,500 fans were left disappointed at the SSE Belfast Arena, the band dropped the new video just before midnight last night in an effort to appease them.

A statement on Aiken Promotions website last night said, "The show tonight has been cancelled as Liam has taken ill, and whilst not serious , he is unable to perform tonight.

"Please hold on to your tickets. A further statement will be made in the morning. The band apologise to the fans and wish Liam better."

Reports suggest Liam may be suffering from food poisoning.  Harry, Louis, and Niall took to their own official Twitter accounts to apologise for the cancellation.

Fans have also taken to Twitter to express their disappointment, "absolute disgrace in Belfast tonight! Such a sin on them poor kids waiting to see you. Don't be surprised if you loose fans!!![sic]".

The song 'Perfect', which may or may not be about Taylor Swift, is illustrated by the black and white video showing the lads in a skyscraper hotel room singing their hearts out and causing trouble.
