Going 'live' today on independent.ie, The Windmill Lane Sessions is an exclusive series of weekly acoustic performances and interviews with leading music artists from Ireland and around the world.

To start the series with a big bang, today The Windmill Lane Sessions will feature five acts: Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Walls, Morrissey & Marshall, The Hot Sprockets and Mundy.

Each artist is performing an original song and a cover version (Rodrigo y Gabriela cover Orion by Metallica; The Hot Sprockets cover Jumping Jack Flash by the Rolling Stones; Mundy covers Touch Me by The Doors) as well as an in-depth interview by me.

Other acts that will be performing in the new series, that runs until March, include Declan O'Rourke, Sharon Corr, Damien Dempsey, The Riptide Movement, Ham Sandwich, Brian Kennedy, The Mighty Stef, The Original Rudeboys, Aslan, Nick Kelly and The Lost Brothers, among many others.

The fruits of seven months of hard work on this state-of-the-art production - both in terms of sound and vision from a huge team - The Windmill Lane Sessions on independent.ie shows Independent News & Media's commitment to innovation and connected entertainment for the future.

All this and some rockin' live tunes, too.

As Henry Rollins said, live music is a cure for all that ails you.
