The first batch of acts to perform at this year's Longitude festival in Dublin's Marlay Park from July 17-19 have been announced.

The Chemical Brothers, Alt-J, our own Hozier, Caribou, SBTRKT, Wild Beasts and Jungle will headline.

Other acts announced include Little Dragon, Young Fathers, Kaytranada, Hudson Mohawke, Wolf Alice, Slaves, Girl Band, and Gengahr.

Tickets go on sale January 30.

There had been fears for the concerts following a record number of complaints by residents about the eight nights of gigs, including Longitude, that took place at the Rathfarnham park in Dublin in June and July.

However, the festival was granted permission to proceed in December.

Longitude has been nominated at the Irish Festival Awards for Best Medium Festival for the second year running as well as receiving nominations in the Best Line Up and Family Festival awards categories.
