Idris Elba has contributed his considerable rapping skills to Noel Fielding's bizarre new Christmas single.

'I Can't Wait for Christmas' comes courtesy of The Mighty Boosh's Fielding and Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno as part of their collaboration Loose Tapestries.

If lyrics like, "Thank your for the joystick, than you for socks, thank you for the Rolex, thank you for the yacht, but the stationery, it be going in the dustbin” float your boat then it's the Christmas single for you.

Idris, who moonlights as a DJ as well as starring in Luther and batting off Bond rumours by day, makes an appearance at the end with a rap about an Xbox and "feeling jolly sipping on the berries".

"We've got Idris Elba rapping on a Christmas song," said Pizzorno recently.  "He was doing the Mandela film at the time and we were laughing, saying, 'Imagine doing that and then coming down and dropping a Christmas rap on a medieval psych-prog record.'"
