Irish band Picture This light up the RDS as 'Summer in the City' concert series wraps
Rising Irish stars Picture This were the star attraction at the RDS as part of the 'Summer in the City' concert series.
The pop rockers from Kildare performed to a sold-out crowd of 35,000 people on Saturday night, following in the footsteps of Bruce Springsteen, U2, Radiohead and Prince, despite being together just two years.
Saturday night's show kicked off with afternoon performances by warm-up acts Clean Bandit, Little Hours and JP Cooper on what was one of the warmest days of the year.
It proved to be an emotional milestone for the band, who are enjoying a meteoric rise to success, who tweeted a picture of the electric crowd with the caption: "35,000 strong in a stadium singing every word and giving us the best night of our lives. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for an unforgettable time. Let’s do it again soon."
The duo have just wrapped a national mini-tour after receiving rave reviews for their performance at Cork's Live at the Marquee. They will be taking their show on the road over the coming months with gigs lined up in Scotland and New York as they are putting the finishing touches on their second album.
On Sunday night, Rita Ora and the Chainsmokers wrapped the weekend concert series.
THAT was Picture This’ crowd. Those 35,000 people, they were all there for them. The stadium was theirs. pic.twitter.com/wM9ZGjLUNs— 🌸 Picture This Ireland 🌸 (@PictureThisIE) June 24, 2018
