Hugh Jackman trades movies for music as he announces Broadway to Oz arena tour of Australia
Only last night he was warbling away on Les Miserables on Channel 4 much to fans' delight and today Hugh Jackman has announced he'll be doing a lot more warbling around the arenas of his native Australia.
The Hollywood star has announced Broadway to Oz, an arena tour which will kick off in Melbourne on November 24 and then hit Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
The Wolverine star said he had been planning the show for a decade and it was a "true bucket list moment" and he told fans "You're going to get to know the real me in that show".
Broadway to Oz will chart his life growing up in Oz and his career progression in Hollywood, including a tribute to Wolverine and he'll be both singing and dancing with the accompaniment of 150 musicians, singers, dancers, and a choir.
He doesn't do things by halves.
Jackman previously wowed on Broadway with a similar show, Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway, and his wife Deborra Lee Furness gave it the thumbs up. Well, she didn't fall asleep during it and "thats' as high a bar as you can get" said Jackman.
Les Mis fans will be delighted to know that the set list for his new show will include songs from that musical as well as songs from other shows in which he has not appeared but which he loves. Tickets go on sale August 31.
