Irish stars The Script have made their dream come true as their debut headline concert at Croke Park has sold out.

The trio thanked their fans last night after their June 20 concert in the Dublin stadium sold out in just a few hours.

Tickets went on sale at 9am yesterday morning and promoters MCD announced just hours later that they had sold out.

American singer Pharrell Williams is set to support the band on stage, and it is expected that Hozier and Kodaline will also make an appearance in the Drumcondra venue.

"Oh my god, we sold out Croker," said the band's drummer Glen Power in a message to their fans last night.

"Honestly, there are no fans out there in the world like The Script family. Thank you for this life. Thank you for the job that we have and thank you for supporting us from day one and for giving us this chance to do this amazing gig."

A spokesperson for Croke Park stadium said that they are "delighted" with how the ticket sales went.

"It shows the great reaction to the line up," they added. "It is all very positive. And, we are looking forward to a June gig in Croke Park."

While the stadium has permission to hold three concerts throughout the year, a source close to MCD said that it is "unlikely" any additional dates will be added for The Script next summer.
