Hozier is still a homebird at heart.

The Grammy-nominated singer (25) might be one of music's fastest rising stars, but his feet are still firmly on the ground.

The Take Me To Church hitmaker revealed that when he's at home in Ireland, he still sleeps at his home in Wicklow, shunning five star accommodation for home comforts. Having spent the last two years touring the world and performing at the Grammys and  working the festival circuit.

"It is very busy so we've been busy every day since God knows when," he told the Irish Mail on Sunday.

"I'm getting home for Christmas and spending time with my family. That's what I've been looking forward to, a bit of quiet time at home, turn the phone off and switch the mind off."

"I'm sick of looking at suitcases, I'm happy to be in one place. I still have my own room in the house, it's a mess. Everything I've been shipping home over the last two years is in the room."

And while he might be music's man of the moment, with celebrity fans including superstar Taylor Swift, he said he'll never get too big for his boots.

"What we're good at is maintaining that normality and keeping level heads. You're not allowed to get carried away with the whole thing when you have Irish friends around you."
