An Irish band has just entered the World Music Charts after their new video Silent Place went viral.

The trad band uploaded the video for the tune to their Facebook page on Thursday September 14 and it has since garnered more than 14m views.

Silent Place features the music of Jiggy set to visuals of individual dancers and dance troupes from around the world and it "celebrates the togetherness of dance".

Their debut album Translate is currently at number 1 in the Irsih world music charts and number 2 in the US, Canada, France and the UK.

The band was formed in 2014 by percussionist Robbie Harris and has grown into an 8 piece live outfit.  The musicians have backgrounds in traditional Irish, Indian folk, electronic and funk music.

Their previous track King of the Fairies clocked 8m views.

Jiggy will be bringing their fusion of trad, world rhythms, and dance to the Late Late Show studio tonight.
