Pop queen Adele will kick off her first tour in four years on Irish soil.

The singer shared the good news with her fans via a personalised video message online yesterday.

"Hello, it's me, Adele," she said laughing, before adding; "I can't even say that any more. I am, of course, having a tour, and I can't wait to see you all very, very soon."

The singer will open her tour in Belfast, playing the SSE Arena on February 29 and March 1.

She will then come to Dublin, playing the 3 Arena on March 4 and 5.

Tickets will go on sale on December 4 and are expected to sell out fast on the day.

The singer has smashed chart records in the UK - sales of her new album '25' have already hit 737,000, meaning it has beaten the previous opening week sales record set by Oasis in 1997 of 696,000.

In the US, sales for the album have passed the three-million mark.
