Gardai and MCD have issued a notice warning ticketholders for next month’s Avicii gig who are under-18 that they will not be allowed entry into the gig.

Garda ID will be required to enter the event at Marlay Park on Friday July 3, and under 18s will be refused entry without refund.

Under-18 ticketholders can obtain a refund before the deadline of 5pm on Friday June 26.

There will be a “no alcohol” policy on public and private transport, and concertgoers who arrive intoxicated will be refused entry without refund.

Gardai have also said there will be a zero tolerance policy regarding alcohol consumption in public areas as well as any illegal or anti-social behavior.

“Searches will be conducted on all patrons entering the arena by concert staff upon entry. Any person refusing to be searched may be refused entry,” Garda Superintendent Peter Duff said.

“Gardai will be on duty and will also be conducting searches at both point of entry and throughout the arena. Alcohol and anything which may be considered dangerous will not be permitted, and any persons found in possession of these items will be required to surrender them before they are allowed enter,” he said.

Concert promoter MCD has urged all concert-goers to respect the privacy and property of local residents and businesses by not engaging in any anti-social behaviour.
