Elton John confirms Irish tour date for 2017
Elton John and his band have confirmed they will play Ireland next summer.
The singer-songwriter will take to the stage at Live At The Marquee in Cork on June 20th.
This will be Elton's fourth show at the Marquee, making him the only international artist to do so.
“My appearance at Live at the Marquee in June will be my fourth show at that wonderful festival since July 2007. It is always a joy to play in Cork and my band and I are looking forward to enjoying what are always some of the greatest audiences on the tour," he said.
The Tiny Dancer singer has previously held 22 concerts in Ireland, with his first being in the National Stadium in Dublin in 1979.
With over 4,000 performances and a career spanning more than 50 years, Elton revealed that time is on his mind.
“The simple truth is I want to spend more time with my family, and I am only too aware of just how precious the time ahead is."
“My sons are growing up so quickly; their early years are just flying by and I want to be there with them. So these concerts will give me the chance to thank the fans who have been so faithful to me over these many decades."
The show will feature iconic hits and classic album tracks from Elton's iconic career, including songs from his latest album, Wonderful Crazy Night.
Tickets go on sale Monday November 7th at 9am from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and ticketmaster.ie.
