Daniel O'Donnell, Nathan Carter and friends join forces for Donegal benefit concert
Singing stars Daniel O'Donnell and Nathan Carter are to headline a gig to help the victims of the Donegal flood disaster.
The concert - Flood Aid For Inishowen - will take place next Sunday at the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny and will be hosted by TV3 personality Noel Cunningham.
Daniel decided to take part in the concert after seeing the devastation the floods had caused families.
"I'm sure, like myself, you are all shocked and horrified, but thank God nobody lost their lives," he said. "As well as the money raised we hope the people of Inishowen will derive some sort of comfort from this show of support and that their plight is being heard."
Declan Nerney, Johnny Brady, and Dominic and Barry Kirwan will also perform.
Tickets cost €30 and are on sale through local outlets and at the Aura Centre.
More than 300 different parts of the 1,500km road network across the Inishowen peninsula in Co Donegal were damaged by last Tuesday's horrific flooding.
The details were given in an updated assessment at a meeting of the Inishowen Municipal Authority yesterday. Incidents ranged from serious structural damage to bridges to rural roads being completely washed away.
To date, 47 families have registered with Donegal County Council as being displaced.
Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin arrived in Donegal yesterday to see the damage for himself. He visited a number of areas along with local TDs Charlie McConalogue and Pat 'the Cope' Gallagher.
