The countdown is on for pop superstar Ed Sheeran to take to the stage at Croke Park on July 24th and 25th, to the delight of his army of Irish fans.

Fresh from his sold-out concerts in Wembley last weekend, the singer said it was "an absolute honour" to share the stage with the legendary Elton John.

And, in anticipation of Sheeran's arrival, bookmakers have been busy devising some appropriate odds.

Bono is the favourite to join him on stage for a duet, with odds of 10/1. Less likely to sing with Ed is country star Daniel O'Donnell, who is at 100/1.

One thing is for sure - Ed loves to party. Boyle Sports have him at 3/1 to give a rendition of The Fields of Athenry and to down a pint of Guinness on stage
