Bob Geldof cancels three gigs due to 'poor ticket sales'
Singer Bob Geldof has reportedly been forced to cancel three solo gigs as ticket sales flopped.
The 63-year-old musician was expected to play three solo gigs in the UK in 800-capacity venues, but it is believed that less than half of the tickets were sold.
The music events were planned to take place in Dorking in Surrey, Port Talbot in South Wales and Clacton in Essex.
Fan sites for the Irish singer state that the shows are now called due to "unforeseen circumstances".
However, a music insider has claimed that the cancellations were a result of poor ticket sales.
"Ticket sales were far weaker than he was expecting," the source divulged.
"They were expecting to sell out easily. It's not what he wanted. As far as he's concerned, if the shows don't sell half the tickets on offer it's not worth putting them on," the insider told The Irish Sun.
A spokesman for Bob declined to comment.
