MCD boss Denis Desmond has dashed the hopes of Coldplay fans who missed out on a ticket to the band's gig next year.

Mr Desmond said the group won't be playing a second Dublin concert.

Around 80,000 tickets sold out in less than an hour for the Croke Park show on July 8, leaving thousands of Coldplay fans and lead singer Chris Martin hoping for a second gig.

"There won't be a second Coldplay gig in Dublin. They don't have the time," said Mr Desmond.
