Are Hozier and Ed Sheeran the luckiest men in showbiz?

BRAY native Hozier must have been pinching himself when he found himself in the midst of some of the world's most beautiful women as he serenaded an array of models at the Victoria's Secret fashion show.

Some of the world's top models - known as Angels - took to the catwalk at Earls Court in London dressed in lingerie and large feathered angel wings.

Forty models were chosen for the show, including Lily Aldridge, Candice Swanepoel, Behati Prinsloo, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes and Karlie Kloss.

The girls were serenaded by Hozier (24), Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande on stage at the high profile event which will be screened on December 9.

But the Dubliner revealed that he didn't recognise any of the Angels before the show.

"I'm familiar with the lingerie brand and have seen shots of it. I know the show is a big fashion event to showcase Victoria's Secret's new line of sexy sexy things," he told Elle magazine.

"To be honest, I've never seen any of these women before. I certainly have never performed with women passing me by, nor in a setting of that capacity.

"I've never performed like that. I'm usually stuck behind a mic stand with a guitar in my hand."

Sheeran, Grande and Swift also took to the stage.

The top models undergo intense fitness regimes in order to prepare for the show, and this year the lingerie giant hired professional dance coach Mary Helen Bowers to teach the girls to walk gracefully down the runway.

Brazilian beauties Alessandra (33) and Adriana (33) both had the honour of wearing the coveted Fantasy Bra, which is worth £1.25m (€1.5m) and is adorned with sapphires, rubies and 24-carat gold.

It's paramount that the girls look their best, and top beautician Jimmy Coco revealed that he used 3.5 litres of fake tan on the girls in preparation for the show. He uses up to three coats of tanner on each model which adds up to almost 40 cans of product overall.

Hozier's performance marked the first time an Irish singer has taken to the stage at the annual event which costs millions to produce.

The Take Me To Church singer also had another reason to celebrate yesterday as he is currently the number one artist worldwide on music streaming site Spotify.
